Burnt Timber/Pryor Mtn - August 31, 2024

 Burnt Timber Ridge Road (2849) is one of many ways to access the Wild Horse Range located in the Pryor Mountains. The majority of the road is within  the Wilderness Study Area (WSA).  During the 2,000 feet gain in elevation, expect to see black bear, big horn sheep, turkeys and of course the wild mustangs who have called the Pryor Mountains home for over 200 years. 

We’ll meet at Beacon Hill Rd and Powell Hwy in Cody and leave at 8:00.

We will caravan to Lovell and make a stop for a restroom break at the 

Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area South District Visitor Center.

We’ll continue on to the unloading spot down ALT 14 to WY37 rd.

We’ll turn left on Crooked Creek Rd to the unloading spot.
